Meet the People Behind the Platform | Maisha Billingsley

Welcome to JustFund’s People Behind the Platform series, where we introduce our incredible team! Today, we are thrilled to introduce Maisha Billingsley, Client Operations Manager.

Before joining the JustFund team, I spent 8+ years working my way up in operations for SaaS (software as a service), E-commerce and Non-Profit organizations. Since I was young, I’ve loved learning, creating systems, processes and building things that make life easier! As the child of two extremely busy, career-focused entrepreneurs–both of whom took non-traditional educational routes, I developed a passion early on for understanding organizational structures and learning about creative ways to give back in whatever environments I felt cultivated me and others in my community.

When I heard about what Justfund was doing, I felt like it was a match made in heaven! As a woman of color in the tech space, hearing about a platform that is dedicated to opening pathways for marginalized groups to receive funding was not only innovative, but truly inspiring. There is NOTHING in the market like what JustFund is offering, and each day, I come into work with a sense of urgency, gratitude and fulfillment in my day-to-day responsibilities.

Outside of JustFund, I’m a football mom, traveler, avid reader and mild adventurer! I’m also incredibly passionate about giving back. I am the co-founder of a small consulting firm for Black and Brown led nonprofits and small businesses. I love teaching others what I’ve been able to learn within the private sector and to foster environments that give leaders in my community the knowledge and confidence they need to manage their business operations effectively.
