JustFund Common Application

Calling All Applicants: Why JustFund Just Makes Sense (Part 2)

In this multi-part series, we look under the hood of our flagship giving solution: The JustFund Common ApplicationTM. In part two, learn how JustFund makes the application process easier for nonprofits, funds, and other grantseeking entities.

As the nation’s first – and only – giving platform that uses a common application, JustFund connects funders and applicants so they can move money quickly to communities that have been historically excluded from traditional philanthropy.

How it Works for Applicants

Upon completing the JustFund Common ApplicationTM, applicants gain access to funding opportunities on the JustFund platform, for free, in perpetuity. The common application profile is also visible on JustFund Search, a living library available to donors, philanthropic advisors, and program officers looking for grantees.

Instead of completing a brand new application for each funding opportunity, applicants save dozens of hours by using one common application accepted by all funders on JustFund. Funders are permitted to ask three separate questions or requests attachments, so applicants only have to answer those supplemental requests when applying.

Benefits for Applicants

Applicants enjoy a range of benefits when using the JustFund Common ApplicationTM.

Time-Saving
: Each time an applicant uses JustFund’s Common ApplicationTM to apply for a funding opportunity, they save dozens of hours. The common application profile is automatically submitted to each funding opportunity an applicant applies to, along with custom responses to up to three questions and up to three attachments requested by the funder.

Access to New Funding Opportunities: Applicants are given a free account on JustFund in perpetuity. With the account, they can apply to any funding opportunity for which they’re eligible using the common application profile each time. JustFund welcomes new funders onto the platform every month and our hope is that applicants will have access to dozens of aligned funding opportunities.

Easy Communication to Funders: JustFund allows applicants to share updates with funders via an activity section so they can keep funders informed of their work. Applicants can update their common application profile anytime and make sure their data and information are current so funders know their goals and impact.

Amplify Work to Potential New Funders: An applicant’s common application profile is available for donors, philanthropic advisors, and program officers in JustFund Search. JustFund Search is an online library of all of the 13,000+ common application profiles from projects, organizations, and funds seeking funding. Applicants are notified when a funder marks a commitment to fund their work.
